The most difficult part of being an attorney is having to work in cases where a product has caused the death or injury of a child. This is why the spread of awareness is crucial to minimize product injuries or deaths among children.
The most recent recalled product was the IKEA chests and dressers, which suddenly tipped over and killed 6 children and caused 30 injuries. To address the issue, IKEA recalled 29 million dressers and chests.
If you own an IKEA chest or drawer, make sure to contact IKEA to check whether the model you own has been recalled. The main recalled product model seems to be MALM, however, there may be more. You need to make sure that you contact IKEA directly to confirm.
If you do not have a recalled product, you should still inspect your IKEA chest and drawer. In addition, if you can, try to mount these products to the wall to avoid the possibility of tipping over.
